  1. Hi guys, I've been playing around with my Toyota 86 GTS headlights, figuring out how the DRLs dim. It seems that there's a 14V trigger wire that causes the DRLs to dim. However the regular 14V maximum brightness DRL wire starts doing a supposed square wave 5V RMS when the "dim DRL" wire has a 14V through it. Please find attached the diagram (PDF and PNG format) I have drawn up. I was hoping to get some more opinions on this. I'm figuring out how to dim my switchback DRLs Cheers! 3. Hi all I'm new to the forum (so if there is anything I may have missed or done incorrectly, please alert me and I'll correct it). I'm looking to buy an 86. Preferably model year 2015 (with the shark fin antenna, carbon fibre like interior and suspension updates). So I've been looking around and have a few questions: 1) What exactly are the suspension updates from model year 14 to 15? Are there big differences in terms of using the car as a daily, no track, and mostly highway km's? (If this is already posted elsewhere on the forum please let me know and I'll edit this out). 2) The car I'm currently looking at from a seller, was not driven for the first 3 months since new from 2014 January (model year 2014). After that, it was driven approximately once a week, for very short trips (totalling 1000km over 2 years). It's had one service approximately at the 12000km mark in 2016. Would there be any potential issues for a car rarely driven, and one that was not driven for 3 months? I've looked around on Google but couldn't find an exact answer, some say it's fine, some say it's not. Thanks, Raneer
  4. HI All. For sale is my late 2014 Toyota 86 GTS in white. Immaculate condition inside and out, it was first registered at the end of May 2015, so has been on road for less than 6 months. Completely stock, no mods and only 7500km on the clock. You will also receive 4 capped price services from Toyota, as well as warranty until the end of May 2018. The cars first service will be due by January. Happy to answer any questions you have. Cheers. Gareth

  9. Ok, still 42 days until my 2014 White GTS aero arrives, but under the bed is starting to bulge with bits so I thought I'd track my gear on here. Plus things will happen pretty fast once she arrives and I take a few weeks off work to 'play'. Gear so far sitting in boxes - - Matte Black T Badges - Grazio & Co - TRD Shift Knob - GReddy CF Bonnet Dampers - Shark Fin Antenna - Valenti Smoked Tail Lights - 4x Work Emotion XD9 18x9 +38 - All remaining LEDs Trying to source EcuTek but have not had any luck with any workshops returning calls or emails???!!! That's it for day 1 mods. When I confirm delivery date I'll book in for tint and Opti Coat, and I have a quick trip to the States and Canada coming up early March, where I'll grab my Invidia N1 exhaust. This will be car number 43 for me (half of '86'...coincidence) and the Toyota site is showing Feb production. Hoping for the Build Date to appear as 12 Feb so it can share my birthday Looking forward to a few SE QLD cruises and meeting some new people
  10. Selling a braking upgrade package suitable for a GTS, or a GT that has GTS calipers that is perfect for a street car that will occasionaly see a track and want more consistent and reliable brake force. All items are Brand New in their boxes. I received this kit from 86Drift.com in April this year and never got around to installing, which is a good thing as now i'm putting my pennies towards a S/Charger and BBK project instead. DBA Street Series T2 Slotted Rotors Front & Rear Ferodo DS Perfomance Pads Front and Rear HEL Braided Brake Lines Cost me a total of $1020.00 RRP (including freight costs). $800 Including Freight to QLD or $820 outside of QLD I do not really want to sell parts individually, so will attempt to sell the whole package before accepting any offers on seperate components. T2 Rotors Info and Generic Pictures http://www.dba.com.au/products/street-performance/t2-slot/ DS Performance Pads http://www.dba.com.au/products/ds-performance-pads/ Braided Lines (mine are the Transperant/Silver) http://www.helperformance.com.au/hel-brake-lines-for-toyota-gt86.html
  11. Has anyone else been having issues with their phone pairing then disconnecting with the GTS head unit? Also, had it drop out completely (full shutdown while driving) and restart without me touching it only to ask me to set up GPS again. Could be intermittent so I'll keep an eye on it. Anyone else had this issue?
  12. Hi fellow 86ers, Just purchased my GTS 86 yesterday (get delivery next week) and want to be part of a community of like-minded people with an appreciation for the 86 and cars in general. Being my first brand-new car there's no grand visions of any mods in the foreseeable future but would love to make it to the occasional meet in my local area. Have driven an 86 at Mount Cotton Driver Training Centre and that got me hooked. I have driven a lot of cars but none with the balance and illusion of speed like the 86. I live in Mount Gravatt, Brisbane and currently work for a local university. Starting a new degree next year so a pretty exciting period in my life. Hoping to meet people through the forum and maybe share the occasion Sunday drive through Mt Nebo etc.
  13. Good day folks, I'd like to purchase some new/near new GTS/BRZ wheels and tyres, looking for all four. If you can give me a good price I'll take them off your hand quicksmart. Its not my first choice, so I am not willing to pay top dollar, looking for a bargain I guess. Cheers
  14. This is my GTS there are many like it, but this one's mine... lol, anyway this car is awesome compaired to my old 2000 TJ Magna (Auto). First saw this car exsisted in the local newspaper in mid 2012 and went down a week or so later and put my deposit down for a orange GTS but over the week after thought that a Gray one would suit my vision for my car better (very smart choice I made). First ever pic of my car; Better shots outside after I Opti-Coated it;
  15. Hi Guys, Proud new owner of a tornado grey GTS Love it! But, when I connect my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone via bluetooth, I'm not able to see the albums and tracks on the head unit. If I play music on the phone itself, it will play through the stereo OK, but the forward and next button don't work either. So I still effectively need to operate the phone to set the music. I've mucked around with settings on the phone and the head unit, but not had any luck. The instruction manuals doesn't seem to have a troubleshooting, it does list the bluetooth specs and profile, but I haven't been able to find out whether the Galaxy S4 matches. Anyway, has anyone had this issue, and if so how did you fix it (without getting a new phone)? Cheers! No doubt I'll be floating around here a bit now to share experiences, learnings and appreciation of this beautiful car *stares out window at it again*

Well Jan 19th I placed my order for a new Black GTS and nearly 6 months later it arrived, today was the day I picked up my GTS, I'm so eager to start changing things, but I'll take some time, still gotta break it in for the first 1400kms, although I am planning these changes later down the track. - Red/Smoked Crystal Eye Taillights - Modelista shark fin antenna - BC Coilovers - Invidia N1 Exhaust TI Tips - Greddy Air Intake That's pretty much some that come to mind, so here are a couple of pics
