Be nice to either see some benefit for members, (ie discounts or gbs) rather than spamvertising.

Why don't you post that sentiment a few more times? Talk about spam.
Personally, they're making us aware of products we might be interested in buying, as far as I'm concerned it's the same as me posting a link to their ebay page because I found them and liked the look of it. They should be encouraged for having a consistent, open dialogue with the exact people likely to purchase their product, it's something I wish more companies took part in.
Don't see the need to make an issue of it.

its a ballance between offering content/deals/services and the traders wanting to be good and involved in the place.
guys like streetFX and Option1 are really good at looking after forum members when they advert here
some are not so good but they will learn, the more business they get from members will be multiplied many times with good will and looking after the members...
basically if they see value from putting ads here, they will see more value if they are good forum contributers.....

How is that contributing to the community?
I'd rather buy from either a sponsor, or active member.
Most forums have a minimum post count before you can sell something.
I'm not against people selling their stuff, but unless they are contributing to the site in some way, either by participation or sponsorship, why should they get a free kick?
They wouldn't get to advertise elsewhere for free. So yes I feel justified in pointing it out in their threads.
To be clear also - I've bought stuff from WTF, Carmods, Solarstyle, and Sutty through this site so my money is where my mouth is.

The two people I'm speaking about specifically have only ever posted in their own for sale threads

Ditto Panman.
It's unfair to the sponsors of the forum if non-sponsors or non-active members are selling stuff for a profit.
Sponsors pay what, $200 a year at least, to be a sponsor. What's the point in paying that now, seeing as someone can just join to advertise their item without being moderated?
If they were offering their items for a discount to forum members, sure. But linking to eBay is just straight out advertising.

CTAutoparts need to contact the admin team to become an Official Forum Sponsor/Vendor if they wish to advertise their products on this page. It is unfair to the other paying vendors, and I don't see why they should receive "free" advertisement when it does cost money to host forums/pages such as this.

I've noticed a number of threads in the for sale section from CT Auto parts linking to their ebay auctions. Shouldn't they be a trader/sponsor given they are effectively advertising on the site?

If the Dealer where I got my car rings me and says do I know anyone looking for, eg Black GTS MT Aero, and I know people are hunting for a car, do I mention it or direct him to the site admin?
On another site I was lucky enough to locate 2 cars last year and one was snapped up within ONE minute of me making the post, NO cash in it for me, I got a buzz just being able to have a guy get exactly what he ordered months earlier
PS: I'm the guy who chatted with you BP Northbound Burpengary a few months ago .. Track Day Lakeside Monday 15 July next, ALL DAY affair for half-day entry fee

On this note, we have contacted admins multiple times about becoming a sponsor, and so far nobody has responded. Are we just talking to the wrong people? Could someone point us in the right direction please? Thank you in advance.

Hi there. Send Bren off a message. Pretty sure hes a Mod. Most of the admins that I know of don't visit the site to often anymore.
Done, thanks heaps for that
